Trying to start a new game resulted in the game removing the menu but staying at the screen with the Imperial symbol, smoke, and music.

I have not tried starting a new game and seeing if the mods are active, though I might do that now, maybe this is some way of telling me that old save file is now corrupt? Skyrim.esm and the others are in the data folder where they began, nothing has moved.

However now when I open the game, also through Mod Organizer, and try to load any of my characters saves the game tells me that it is missing files that the save relies on such as skyrim.esm, update.esm, the rest of the dlcs, unofficial patch and so on. I use Mod Organizer 2 and have all the mods I've been using ticked on both sides.
